Aircraft Coating Removal Payback

The financial analysis of any coating removal operation has these components:

  1. Capital cost of necessary equipment, structures, enclosures, and so forth.
  2. Labor cost, including man-hours (incremental and fully burdened), training, anticipated on-the-job injuries, and labor overhead.
  3. Waste disposal cost. Components include collection, storage, transportation, tipping, related labor, and often taxes and fees related to hazardous materials.
  4. Out-of-service cost for the equipment being maintained, during the time required for maintenance.
  5. Anticipated damage to the equipment being maintained, due to the risks inherent in the chosen method of maintenance.
